I used to like this song, actually I still do like it. And I would like to state that when I was a kid, I used to think Ernie was crazy. I don't know why, but I used to think he was crazy.
But there was that first thing this morning. Then there was my random thought about the lyrics to the nursery rhyme Pop Goes the Weasel. What is that song supposed to mean? The lyrics go, Round and round the mulberry bush, the monkey chases the weasel. The monkey thought it was a joke. Pop! Goes the weasel. So what did the monkey catch the weasel and then the weasel exploded? Why would a weasel go pop if it didn't explode? And what caused the weasel to explode? Was it strapped with explosives? And wouldn't that have caused the monkey to explode too? I don't know? That particular nursery rhyme just has more questions than answers.
And I am aware that it's a nursery rhyme and most of them don't make sense, I mean just look at Hey Diddle-Diddle. Hey Diddle-Diddle, the cat and the fiddle. The cow jumped over the moon. The little dog laughed to see such sport and the dish ran away with a spoon. That one is easy. Whoever wrote it was popping roofies at the time.
